| During the 1970s, high-quality talent nurturing
was the most urgent task to Korea. Talents were needed
to facilitate economic growth and establish a welfare
society. The Daesang Foundation was established to help
the students who are capable enough but poor to continue
their study under a long-term and systematic program.
Since then, it has fostered talents who will contribute
to the national development, helped those in need and
stimulated the development of study, culture and arts.
